Electrician Acton and Shepherd's Bush: EICR for Flats

Acton and Shepherd's Bush sit either side of the Ealing and Hammersmith and Fulham border, with Victorian and Edwardian terraces, large houses split into flats, mansion blocks and new developments around White City and Acton's stations. Most of the flats here are rented, so landlord EICRs are the main job we do in W3 and W12.

Areas we cover

We work across Acton, Acton Town, South Acton, East Acton, North Acton, Acton Green, Shepherd's Bush, Askew Road, Goldhawk Road, White City, Wormholt and the Uxbridge Road corridor towards Ealing.

EICR for flats and conversions

Landlords must have an EICR at least every five years and give a copy to tenants before they move in. In converted houses we test each flat's own consumer unit and circuits, and note anything about the landlord supply, shared stairs and communal lighting. EICRs start from £100 and the certificate is emailed the same day.

Common findings in W3 and W12

  • Flats created from one house that still share a circuit, a neutral or an earth.
  • Communal stair lighting with no recent inspection and no RCD protection.
  • Older consumer units in basement flats affected by damp.
  • Kitchens and bathrooms refitted with no certificates for the electrical work.
  • Emergency lighting missing or not tested in larger shared houses.

For larger shared houses, see our guide to emergency lighting testing for London landlords and HMOs.

Shops, cafes and offices

The high streets along Uxbridge Road, Churchfield Road and Goldhawk Road are full of small businesses that need their electrics tested too. We can test before opening or after closing so trade is not lost.
