Electrician Ealing and Brentford: EICR and EV Charger Installation

West London is a big part of our work, and Ealing and Brentford are two of the areas we visit most for landlord certificates and charge points. This page covers what an EICR costs in Ealing and Brentford, what tends to come up on the report, and how we handle EV charger installs in local homes.

Areas we cover

In the London Borough of Ealing we work in Ealing Broadway, West Ealing, South Ealing, Hanwell, Acton, Southall, Greenford, Perivale and Northolt. Next door in Hounslow we cover Brentford, Chiswick, Isleworth and Hounslow itself.

EICR certificates in Ealing and Brentford

Private landlords in England need an EICR at least every five years and before each new tenancy, with a copy for the tenant. We also carry out EICRs for owners who are buying, selling or simply want to know the state of an older installation.

• Price: an EICR in Ealing or Brentford starts from £100, fixed when you book.
• Turnaround: booking is usually within 48 hours and the certificate is emailed the same day.
• Who: a registered contractor with City & Guilds certified electricians, testing to BS 7671.

What we often find in local homes

• Interwar semis and terraces with original boards or early plastic consumer units that lack RCD protection on some circuits.
• Flats in converted houses where a landlord supply feeds the hallway and smoke alarms and needs testing too.
• Newer riverside flats in Brentford that usually pass, but still need the five-yearly report when they are let.
• Garden offices and outbuildings wired from the house without suitable protection.

If the report is unsatisfactory, landlords have 28 days, or less if the report says so, to have C1, C2 and FI items put right. We quote any remedial work at the visit.

EV charger installation in West London

Plenty of Ealing and Brentford homes have a driveway or off-street space, and a home charger is often the next job after an EICR. We check the supply, earthing and board first, so the EV charger installation is done safely and comes with its own certificate and Building Control notification.
