Electrician Greenford and Northolt: EICR for Landlords

Greenford and Northolt, in the north west of the borough of Ealing, are mostly 1930s semis and terraces, post war estates and newer flats along the canal and the A40. Many family homes are now let, and many have been extended. This page covers EICR certificates, consumer units and EV chargers in UB6 and UB5.

Areas we cover

We work across Greenford, Greenford Green, Perivale, Northolt, Northolt Grange, Yeading edge, Hanwell edge and the borders with Wembley, Sudbury and South Harrow, as part of our wider Ealing coverage.

EICR for local landlords

Private landlords must have an EICR at least every five years and give a copy to tenants before they move in. We test every circuit, check the consumer unit, earthing and bonding, and code anything found as C1, C2, C3 or FI. EICRs start from £100 and the certificate is emailed the same day. Our landlord electrical checklist for a new tenancy covers the rest.

What we often find

  • Original 1930s lighting circuits with no earth.
  • Rear extensions and garden rooms wired on to the existing circuits.
  • Older consumer units with no RCD protection or a single RCD for the house.
  • Kitchens with induction hobs on old cooker circuits.
  • Outdoor sockets and garden lights with no weatherproofing.

Consumer units and EV chargers

Many houses here have drives, so home chargers are a popular upgrade. We check the supply, earthing and board first, and upgrade the consumer unit where needed so it all passes on one certificate. If the board needs changing, our guide to fuse board replacement in London explains what affects the price.
