Electrician Hackney Wick and Homerton: EICR for Flats

Hackney Wick and Homerton sit on the east side of Hackney by the Olympic Park, mixing warehouse studios, canal side new builds, Victorian terraces and large estates. Many homes are rented, and many of the old industrial buildings now house flats, studios and small businesses. This page covers EICR certificates and electrical work in E9.

Areas we cover

We work across Hackney Wick, Homerton, Victoria Park edge, Lower Clapton, Well Street, Fish Island edge and the borders with Leyton and Stratford, as part of our wider Hackney coverage.

EICR for flats and live work units

Landlords must have an EICR at least every five years and give a copy to tenants before they move in. Warehouse and live work units often have three phase supplies, sub boards and long runs in trunking or conduit, so we trace and label every circuit and check the earthing carefully. EICRs start from £100 and the certificate is emailed the same day.

Studios and small businesses

Artists' studios, workshops, breweries and cafes need their own electrical testing too, usually every five years and sometimes sooner where heavy equipment is in use. Our guide to EICRs for commercial units and shops explains the process.

What we often find in E9

  • Extra sockets and lighting added by different tenants with no records.
  • Extension leads powering tools and equipment in studios.
  • Older terraces with original lighting circuits and no earth.
  • Missing labels on boards in shared buildings.

Our guide to consumer unit labelling and circuit charts covers why labels matter.
