Private landlords in England must have the electrics in a rented home inspected and tested at least every five years and before a new tenancy, and give a copy of the report to the tenant. Letting agents in the borough usually want a current report before a property goes on the market.

If the report is unsatisfactory, landlords have 28 days, or less if the report says so, to have C1, C2 and FI items put right. We quote any remedial work at the visit and work around building rules for noise and access.
