Electrician Pinner and Ruislip: EICR and Consumer Units
Pinner and Ruislip, in the north west of Harrow and Hillingdon, are leafy suburbs of 1920s and 1930s Metroland houses, bungalows and semis, most with drives and gardens. Many of these homes still have parts of their original wiring, alongside extensions, loft conversions and garden rooms added since. This page covers EICR certificates, consumer units and EV chargers in HA5 and HA4.
Areas we cover
We work across Pinner, Pinner Village, Pinner Green, Hatch End, Rayners Lane, Eastcote, Ruislip, Ruislip Manor, South Ruislip, Ickenham and Northwood, as part of our coverage of Harrow and Hillingdon.
Metroland houses and their wiring
- Lighting circuits with no earth from the original installation, often coded C2.
- Older consumer units with rewireable fuses or one RCD covering everything.
- Loft conversions and side extensions wired into the original circuits.
- Garden offices and garages fed with unsuitable cable.
- Bungalows with long cable runs and junction boxes hidden in the loft.
If an inspection shows the wiring is at the end of its life, our post on signs a London home needs a rewire explains what to look out for.
EICR for homeowners and landlords
Landlords must have an EICR at least every five years and give a copy to tenants before they move in. Homeowners often book one before selling, buying or starting building work. EICRs start from £100 and the certificate is emailed the same day.
EV chargers on Pinner and Ruislip drives
Many streets here have off street parking, so home chargers are a popular upgrade. We check the supply, earthing and board, upgrade the consumer unit where needed and fit the charger where it suits your parking. Our EV blog explains the choice between a post or wall mounted charger.
