Electrician Rainham and Elm Park: EICR and EV Chargers

Rainham and Elm Park, in the south of Havering near the Thames, are areas of 1930s semis, post war houses, bungalows and newer estates around Beam Park. Most homes have drives or garages, and many have been extended or had loft conversions. This page covers EICRs, consumer units and EV chargers in RM12 and RM13.

Areas we cover

We work across Rainham, Elm Park, South Hornchurch, Wennington, Beam Park and the borders with Hornchurch, Dagenham and Upminster. Our post on Romford and Havering covers the rest of the borough.

EICR for homeowners and landlords

Landlords must have an EICR at least every five years and give a copy to tenants before they move in. Homeowners often book one before selling, before an extension, or when they buy an older house that has not been tested for years. EICRs start from £100 and the certificate is emailed the same day.

Bungalows and older homes

Many bungalows and older houses here still have their original consumer units and some original wiring. We test every circuit and explain what needs doing now and what can wait. Our guide to signs your home needs a rewire explains what to look for.

EV chargers on drives

With so many drives, home chargers are a popular upgrade in RM12 and RM13. We check the supply, earthing and board first, then fit the charger where it suits your parking.

What we often find

  • Older consumer units with no RCD protection.
  • Garages and sheds fed by old cables or extension leads.
  • Extensions and loft rooms wired on to original circuits.
  • Outdoor lights and sockets with no weatherproofing.
