Electrician Willesden and Harlesden: EICR for Landlords
Willesden and Harlesden, in the south of Brent, are areas of Victorian and Edwardian terraces, converted flats, council estates and a growing number of new builds around Willesden Junction. A large share of homes here are privately rented, so landlord EICRs make up much of our work in NW10.
Areas we cover
We work across Willesden, Willesden Green, Harlesden, Kensal Green, Stonebridge, Church End, Dollis Hill edge and the borders with Neasden, Park Royal and Queens Park, as part of our wider Brent coverage.
EICR for local landlords
Private landlords must have an EICR at least every five years and give a copy to tenants before they move in. Brent runs property licensing for many privately rented homes, and an up to date EICR is part of the paperwork. EICRs start from £100 and the certificate is emailed the same day. Our landlord electrical checklist covers the rest of what you need before a new tenancy.
What we often find in NW10
- Terraces split into flats with shared supplies and unclear meter arrangements.
- Older consumer units with rewireable fuses and no RCD protection.
- Missing earth bonding to gas and water pipes.
- Extra sockets and lights added over the years with no certificates.
If the report comes back unsatisfactory, our guide to what happens after an unsatisfactory EICR explains the next steps.
Consumer units and EV chargers
Where a board needs replacing, we fit a modern unit with RCD protection and label every circuit. Homes with off street parking can add a home charger too, once the supply and earthing have been checked.
