Electrician West Drayton and Yiewsley: EICR for Landlords
West Drayton and Yiewsley, in the south of Hillingdon close to Heathrow, are areas of 1930s semis, Victorian terraces, post war estates and new flats near the Elizabeth line station. Many homes are let, often to people who work at the airport, so landlord EICRs and quick turnarounds between tenancies are a big part of our work in UB7.
Areas we cover
We work across West Drayton, Yiewsley, Harmondsworth, Sipson, Longford, Cowley and the borders with Hayes, Uxbridge and Hillingdon. Our post on Uxbridge and Hillingdon covers the rest of the borough.
EICR for local landlords
Private landlords must have an EICR at least every five years and give a copy to tenants before they move in. If a tenancy is about to change, we can usually book the inspection between tenants so the new tenant gets the report on time. EICRs start from £100 and the certificate is emailed the same day.
Homes with drives and garages
Many houses here have drives, garages and garden buildings, often with supplies added years ago. We check outdoor sockets, garage circuits and any garden office feeds, and we can fit a home EV charger once the supply and board have been checked. Our guide to garden and outdoor sockets explains what safe outdoor wiring looks like.
What we often find in UB7
- Older consumer units with no RCD protection.
- Garages fed by old cables or extension leads.
- Rear extensions wired on to original circuits.
- Smoke alarms missing or past their expiry date.
